Day 12: Las Vegas

DON'T WORRY! I have it all under control, our little aircraft is getting valued today and once black 17 comes up we're back in business!!

Its great to have finally made it to Vegas, the last three days have been hectic trying to make up for lost time but it was worth it for the sense of achievement felt when landing yesterday afternoon.
Had the day nicely planned, Sharon headed to the spa for some pampering (her birthday present) while I met Cathal for some early morning gambling. After winning $270 my first night I was beginning to think this gambling lark was easy but I was brought back to earth pretty quickly today, I'm still up a bit but beginning to realise I wont make my fortune here.

Met up with a refreshed Sharon after her spa treatments and we headed over to the MGM Grand for some food followed by a David Copperfield (magician) show. For dinner we went to the Grand Buffet, it's all you can eat for $24, the food is gorgeous and caters for every taste with Italian, Mexican, Chinese, sushi etc etc basically anything you want. The only problem is you never really relax and enjoy what you are eating always planning ahead to what's going on your next plate!

David Copperfield was great, we spent the whole show in awe trying to figure out how he was doing his various tricks. At first we thought maybe audience members selected were plants but after he started firing out frisbees to pick his volunteers we ruled that out. His best trick involved him disappearing as he walked through a giant fan on stage and reappearing about 2 feet behind us and proceeding to give Cathal a high five.

Below is a little map of where we have gone so far and our planned route back.

  1. Hey Daire and Sharon. Sorry I haven't commented until now. Blogs are blocked from the school internet and no internet connected in new place yet. Anyway I just sat down to read the whole thing in one go and I am so jealous, especially of Vegas. Next time ye do it, don't forget that I have 2months off in Summer to share the cost of fuel etc.
    Later
